About the Product

Senior horses demand a feed that is easy to chew and contains highly digestible nutrients. Senior is pelleted, so the senior horse can readily break down the pellets in the mouth and the digestive track. Also incorporated in Senior feed is beet pulp, which provides a source of readily digestible fiber and energy. Senior is the perfect feed for mature horses, horses with teeth or digestive problems, and horses that suffer from dust allergies. Horses in this situation can be fed Senior as their sole ration.

How to Feed

Senior should be presented to the horse slowly. A good rule of thumb is to mix ½ of the new feed with ½ of the old grain mixture for 3-5 days. Afterward, feed according to the following chart. Ample amounts of fresh, clean water and good quality hay or high quality pasture should be furnished at all times. Keep in mind that the chart is only a guideline and the amounts may need to be adjusted, depending on the horse's condition, age, and level of activity. For extreme teeth problems, Senior can be soaked with water to make a mash.
